The Esprayer Arrayer is equipped with one capillary and can spot samples on multi-chips using a changer.
Although the equipment is used mainly as a protein arrayer,
it is still applicable to patterning deposits on a wider area. |

| Micropatterning of two Fluorescent Dyes |
 |
| In the above illustration, two fluorescent dyes were sprayed
with the Esprayer™ Arrayer in alternate rows of eight spots. The spots were then
observed with the fluorescent microscope. Two dyes were spotted to the specific
pattern without mixing. |

 |
| Uniform and accurate spotting |
 |
| High-density patterning |
 |
|
 |
| The Esprayer forms uniform and densified spots. The picture
shows an example of 1,026 spots, approximately 100µm in diameter, uniformly
affixed, which were adhered by spraying florescent colorants with Esprayer™ Arrayer,
using a porous mask of 3x3x6 holes in 290µm in diameter and 400µm
in pitch. The spotted diameter can be reduced to 5-6µm. Since the Esprayer uses
a mask
to spray, precisely positioned accurate spotting can be achieved. Moreover,
as dried protein particles are collected and captured electrostatically, the
spot forms uniform layers in a dry state. |

| Patterning Depositing with the Fuence Logo Mask |
 |

Patterning deposition by Esprayer™ Arrayer using the Fuence
Corporate Logo Mask. The image on the left shows the mask itself, and the image
on the right shows the electrosprayed deposit Rhodamine WT using the mask.
Having been collected and captured electrostatically onto the substrate through
a mask, the sprayed samples are deposited in the shape of the mask hole. Since
the mask hole is possible to make designs with lines, curves, spots and combinations
thereof, it is easy to form any deposition patterning of the user's choice.

 |
| How to carry out Efficient Depositing |
 |
Samples sprayed by the Esprayer™ Arrayer are
deposited directly onto the substrate passing through the mask hole(s) without
sticking to the mask. Therefore, even with minimal amounts, the samples are
collected and captured on the substrate in such a way that costly samples are
used to their maximum efficiency.

ESD tests, not all the results are guaranteed under different experimental conditions.
